Research Projects

Regulation of p53 protein upon extreme hyperthermia

SUMMER RESEARCH STUDENT UNDER SUPERVISION OF DR. CHANDRIMA DAS
June-July 2022

SAHA INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS

  • I studied how different stress responses act as master key to epigenomic changes in transcriptome and metabolome for Cancer Etiology
  • I contributed in writing a book chapter on action of lncRNA in drug resistance. (To Be Published)
  • I hypothesised that global H3K9Me2 mark is vital for nuclear import of necessary proteins upon any stress induction. This hypothesis remains to be tested.
  • I participated in a study that showed SIRT2 nuclear import upon 47°C hyperthermia treatment in HepG2 cells.
  • My research project included:
  • Studying p53 expression levels upon extreme hyperthermia (47°C)
  • SIRT1-mediated H4K16ac deacetylation at 47°C.
  • p53 nuclear localization upon 47°C hyperthermia.
  • p53 ubiquitination status and signalling activation of autophagy mediated cell survival instead of cell death pathway.
  • All study was performed on HepG2 cell line

VEGF: An Angiogenic Switch in Ovarian Cancer

SUMMER RESEARCH STUDENT UNDER SUPERVISION OF DR. JAYASRI DAS SHARMA
June - July 2021

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH KOLKATA

  • Understanding of Fundamentals of Cancer and Cancer Pathogenesis
  • Understanding of Basics of Angiogenesis and VEGF Receptor.
  • Understanding of VEGF Signaling pathways like:
  • VEGF and FLK-1/KDR Signaling Pathway
  • VEGF pathway and the AKT/mTOR/p70S6K1 signalling pathway in human epithelial ovarian cancer
  • Synergistic effect of VEGF and SEMA4D on promotion of angiogenesis in epithelial ovarian cancer
  • AEG1 contribution in metastasis in hypoxia related ovarian cancer by modulating HIF-1 alpha/ NF-kB VEGF pathway.
